Rod was diagnosed with bipolar in 1987. He describes how his symptoms got worse and led to his diagnosis, the treatments offered to him and how he copes today
Rod describes since he's on medication he is "boring and normal" and that this is a good thing. That's fine, but I'm on medication for Bipolar and I'm not boring nor am I "normal". That's fine too. We're all different. But what Rod and I share is that we are not is a state of trauma or vulnerable to destroying ourselves and negatively impacting the lives around us.
I feel for everyone suffering from this terrible illness, I have Bipolar myself and realise that you really cann't underestimate the seriousness of it as you could be fine one day but having a total breakdown the next.
