iPhone 3G Speed Test: WiFi, 3G, and EDGE

For those too lazy to watch the whole thing:

WiFi: 21s
3G: 33s
EDGE: 52s

Clearly, 3G speeds are closer to WiFi (+12s) than EDGE (-19s). Although 3G still isn't "twice as fast," it's close enough.

Tested using firmware 2.0.2 on Rogers Wireless in the Vancouver, Canada area.

No, The "Bolt browser" on the app store is NOT the same one that works on basic phones and blackberry devices...

On their website, they say NOTHING about the iphone except for the fact that they have no plans porting Bolt browser to Iphone.

I have ATT and it took 8 seconds to load nationalgeographic on bolt browser in Tampa, Flordina IN A MOVING TAXI.

If the taxi wasent moving, it would be around 5-6.

Bolt browser is VERY Good at page rendering.

But keep in mind, when you go to a webpage, Bolt's SUPER-FAST servers get the webpage, then it sends it to you. This is why its sooo fast. While Safari just goes and "Gets" the information, bolt gets it from super-fast servers so yea bolt wins.
