Vernon is good, but not great. He has no distinctive sound that immediately notifys who's playing, vs. BB King; Albert King: Albert Collins; Hendrix; SRV, and others. When those guys play(ed), you knew immediatley who they were by their signature licks and tone.
Not putting Vernon down; I think he's a very good guitarist. But not great.
