The Koala

Why did the koala cross the road? your guess is as good as mine... I helped this wild koala bear off the great ocean road in Australia, one of the busiest tourist routes in all Victoria. The young bear was surprisingly placid and didn't mind the attention one bit. i eventually coaxed him up the embankment where he ate leaves and passed out.

we stayed with the koala until the ranger arrived who assured the koala was fine and that this is a common occurance, it had been raining the night before (if you look closely you'll notice the koalas fur is wet) so i wouldn't imagine dehydration would be an issue, as like camels, koalas do not require water as often as other mammals.

The poor animal was probably very thirsty, and was in need of water. Most likely in the past (when on the road) it encountered people who gave it water, and thus it came back for some more water. I hope the koala did not pass out due to dehydration!
