This is the classic clip from a movie about Hitler that other people have used and put their own words to. So I did it as well -- but for the EV industry. Enjoy!

  • @JohnLloydScharf - so it is only about the cost "at the pump" for these fuels? Nothing else to consider, right? Not mountain-top removal? Destruction of streams. Destruction of property and fresh water. Lung disease? None of that has a cost associated with it, right? Yikes.

  • @JohnLloydScharf - OK, I'll get back to you now. The extra watts that I use come from my solar array on my roof. I paid it off in 7years, and all the power is free for the rest of my life. Let's see... the cost of alternatives vs the cost of coal and gasoline - I don't suppose you're taking any environmental costs into consideration for the fossil fuel burning, right? So the externalized, socialized costs of these dirty fuels are... free? And of course gasoline just cleanly appears in your tank?

  • @darelldd Get back to me when you have a realistic idea of the power consumed&the cost of alternative power production per kilowatt vs coal fired. In the real world, every watt extra will have to be produced by coal fired generators.Gasoline is at the point of energy use,not transferred from other sources of energy [your first energy loss] to another and then transmitted [your second energy loss] for hundreds of miles. EV is not energy efficient/pollution free. You just shift pollution sites.

  • @dsm363 Get back to me when you have a realistic idea of the power consumed and the cost of wind power per kilowatt vs coal fired.

  • @JohnLloydScharf - for being so wrong, you sure seem sure of yourself. Did you factor in the 4x better efficiency of an electric motor as compared to ICE? Are you possibly ignoring all the upstream carbon emitted into the air just to make gasoline? Did you realize that making gasoline uses as much electricity as an EV uses? How about the fact that so many of us EV drivers make our own electricity with PV panels? Keep on thinking. Just do it with the facts please.

  • No matter what, this is still in very BAD taste. Subtilties can be lost on some.

  • @JohnLloydScharf That's not necessarily true. You can get your energy from any source for an electric car (I get 100% wind power from my power company)

  • More carbon is released into the air by electic cars than natural gas cars. Every change of energy type is a loss of energy. Every increase in use of electricity in California results in a new need for coal fired plants in Oregon.

  • Sweeeet!

  • cracker! nice work.
