Lee Jung-hyun (born February 7, 1980 in Daegu, South Korea) is a Korean pop singer and actress.

She made her movie debut at age 16 in Kkonnip (꽃잎, "Petal").

Before releasing her first solo music she featured as a guest vocalist on the Jo PD single "Fever", also appearing in the music video. [1]
Her early solo work is techno-style dance music. Her first single, Wa (와, "Come") topped the Korean charts for three weeks, while her third, Bakkwo (바꿔, "Change") won awards for Best Song and Most Broadcast Song.

With her fifth album, Passion, she switched to a different style of music, Latin, complete with Spanish Guitar and flamenco-style tap dance.

Many of her songs are sung in an angry mood, from the perspective of a rejected lover.

Chinese singer Sammi Cheng has released and performed covers of several of her hits such as Bakkwo (became Mei Fei Se Wu in Mandarin/Sat For - Finale in Cantonese), Wa became "Duk Ga See Chung - Exclusive Trial Singing" and Neo(Nuh) (너, You), which became Tian Yi Wu Feng. Sammi's versions have separate, original (non-translated) lyrics sung in Mandarin and Cantonese.

Vietnamese singer Ngo Thanh Van remade "Nuh" in her debut CD, Playworld, under the name "The Colourless Heart" and "Dara Dara" in her 2nd album under the name "Mystery Of The Moon"

Lee Jung Hyun also released Japanese versions of her early hits Wa and Heaven in December 2004, and released her first Japanese album, THIS IS HYONY, in 2006.

Evonne Hsu (许慧欣)'s "Lonely Ballet" (孤单芭蕾/Gu Dan Ba Lei) is also a cover of Lee Jung Hyun's "Michyeo" (미쳐/Crazy).

Cyndi Wang (王心凌)'s "HONEY" is also another cover of Lee Jung Hyun's "Summer Dance".

[edit] In Music Games

Lee Jung Hyun has been one of the favorite artist that has been featured on music-rhythm games. Twenty-one year old Lee Jung Hyun is one of the most notable stars in Korea. Dance, Electronica, and Techno are her label sounds, but as for her image, it is an ever-changing catharsis of distinctive persons or characters. From a cyber female warrior, to Cleopatra and Barbie, she does it all and does it well. She has become a fashion role model for the young generation in Korea.

She became popular not only for her songs but also for her creativity and her acute sense of style. She blends the traditional Korean dance with euro-disco dance and Tai Chi, and develops her own brand. When she performs in her baggy clothes whilst dancing to the music, she bewitches and captivates everyone in the venue.

Another peculiarity of Lee Jung Hyun is that she does not use a regular microphone. She wears a wireless microphone on her finger so as not to disturb her performances. She sings to the microphone worn on her finger with a stylish hand gesture, which compliments her dances. This gesture became her performance trademark.

"Wa" and "Bakkwo" were included in the Korean dance game, 'Let's Dance'. These songs were also featured in the Korean and Asian versions of Dance Dance Revolution 3rd Mix; 3rd Mix Plus; 4th Mix; and 4th Mix Plus. Fan-made DDR dance steps of her other works are popular with players of DDR simulators.

Nuh (Trance Mix) was also featured on ez2Dancer.

Currently, I'll Give, Going Crazy and many other songs are featured on Audition, an online dance-rhythm game.
