I have a M&P 15X and love the quality, but I need a hunting rifle. I have heard mixed reviews and would love to get an i bolt.

are you aware of the recall on the ibolt check the smith&wesson website to see if yours in in it , recall is they fire without the trigger being pulled

Just remember, do your research. S&W owns Thompson Center. S&W made the receiver, bolt, and stock. They pulled a T/C barrel and put a timney trigger on it. Needless to say, if you have all your nuts and bolts tightened, you can shoot this sucker 1moa or less at 100yds. I shoot grouse in the necks all day! You may notice that the action is finnicky. I sometimes have trouble cycling rounds, and that is a turn off for me. That could mean life or death or a missed trophy.
