Greetings! Tonight I want to share with you my first attempt at making this recipe that comes from the Jamie Oliver Food Revolution Cookbook. I highly recommend this book for anyone who has an interest in good, wholesome, simple and delicious recipes. I am a self professed cook book junkie, and could not resist this one, the photographs alone are worth the price of the book. I am going to be doing several recipes from this book and I promise to take you along for the journey.

This ground beef wellington is a simple and economical and delicious twist on a traditional beef wellington without the expense! If you like meatloaf and puff pastry you will love this recipe. This fed my family for two meals with a serving being two generous slices. If you have leftovers, make sure you wrap them in foil and reheat for 20 minutes at 350 degrees then open up the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, that way the pastry won't be too soggy. I will say that leftover it is not as great as the first night, but not that bad!

Look for the full recipe on my blog in a day or two.

  • maan, whats the first dish in the intro??? plz tell me

  • @stene12345 That is Turkish Kouftas I got the recipe from Mary Ann over at the Frugal Chef channel pastryparrot1. She is awesome and so were these little spiced nuggets all wrapped up in a homemade warm pita bread and covered with diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, chopped onion and homemade tziki sauce. YUM! I have a short vid about when I made them Thanks for watching and commenting! Noreen : )

  • this is like a giant calzone

  • @nubcakehero Sort of, only with puff pastry instead of pizza crust

  • Jamie is great!he doesnt live far from me. However i do worry about the amount of oil/butter/fats and high calorie ingredients he uses :S there have been complaints on his tv show here though :( but love this Noreen!will def be passing it on:) keep up the great work xx

  • @dayamsta I understand how people look at fats such as butter and cream, but I don't think that these are intended to be used on a regular 3 meals a day basis. I think the most important thing is that what we eat is natural and pure. Butter is better than margarine for sure. I would pick the natural fat over the chemical one any day. I believe that all things in moderation will make a difference. I figure I didn't get fat overnight, so I probably won't wake up tomorrow skinny. Thanks!
