The photographs were collected by my mother and her sisters in the 1920s by writing to the stars themselves. They would then hang the pictures on the wall in their room or trade them with school friends. Fortunately, the collection has survived through the years intact.

It has been said that Rudy Vallée learned to play the saxophone by listening to Rudy Wiedoeft records. The sheet music for "Gray Morn" (with lyrics) was published in 1921; this version was recorded in January 1922.
