The variation of Armide's confidante from the ballet Le Pavillon d'Armide shown by Alexandra Danilova at School of American Ballet (choreographed by Mikhail Fokine on music by Nikolay Tcherepnin). This record is taken from the movie Reflection of a Dancer - Alexandra Danilova, 1981.
How great to have a ballerina pass on the knowledge she has of these beautiful ballets.

very nice port de bras and footwork, rhythmically perfect, just a little bit old-fashioned

Choreography is so different here compared to the Kirov version, but Danilova surely teached a more authentic version. Love the musicality!

the dancer is Cindy Drummer at this is at SAB, 1979. The ballet is Le Pavillion d'Armide, which was choreographed for Vaslav Nijinsky and Tamara Karsavina, but Fokine, I believe. It premiered at the Theatre du Chatelet around 1909.
I was in this production and movie with Cindy as we were both students at SAB (School of American Ballet) at the time.

Can somebody help me out? Around 1990 I saw a documentary on tv with Alexandra Danilova in it teaching a young ballerina, I think it was a student from the Julliard school of ballet, the famous variation from Raymonda. I would love to see it again. Does anybody know where to find it, is it on you tube at all?
