Tim Carey, Douglas Turkington and Sara Tai

In this clip, a rubber band is used to demonstrate some of the basic principles of Perceptual Control Theory. Using the rubber band with Doug, Tim demonstrates to Sara the way in which a person's goals combine with ongoing environmental circumstances to produce observable actions. The rubber band can also be used to demonstrate conflict which is used as a general formulation of psychological distress in MOL. The final activity in this clip is an illustration of the principles involved in understanding what someone else's goal is in any particular situation.
