@JENDALL714 The reason you saw Mays as a Met and Aaron as a Brewer was because in part, both wanted to retire in the city that they began their careers...Mantle never would have left the Yankees no matter how long he played...But I agree, I am glad he retired when he did...But I am also glad that Willie got to end his career in New York.
@JENDALL714 Especially Willie in his final days with the Mets, he was so spent by then. He had a hard time getting around the bases on the few homeruns he hit.
I hated seeing Mick in the 70's, bad hair and even worse clothes! I am kind of glad that he retired before playing into 1970's, he would have probably ended up an Expo in those bad 70's pull over jersey uniforms! I like to remember Mick as he was, clean cut with a crew cut hitting homers! It was bad enough we had to see Mays as a Met and Aaron as Brewer!
What could be cooler than putting down some brewskies at the bar with Whitey Ford and Mickey Mantle in 1975??

The last thing Mickey Mantle needed was more beer choices.
