One of the greatest football matches of all-time. Carlton came back from a 44 point half-time deficit to run out 10pt winners. The crowd figure of 121,696 has never been eclipsed. And Alex Jesaulenko's mark at the end of the 2nd quarter is one of the best ever recorded.
A full account of the match can be read at www.blueseum.org
(This footage was first broadcast by Channel Ten during the 2010 Brownlow medal count, to honour the 40th anniversary of the match.)
"an incredible bunch of guys ... who never got paid any money" Yep, you can't buy that kind of heart and commitment.
Go The Blues.

These were the days. The ground was filled with members and fans, not members and random people who'd bought their tickets months before just for the sake of going. The pitch around the boundary was covered with streamers, not polished and manicured for the sponsors. The goal umpire looked like a goal umpire, not some idiot in a baseball cap and T-shirt.
Bring back real footy, please!

If this doesn't tug at the heart stings, you don't love Carlton nearly enough! Can't thank these boys enough, along with anyone else who has worn the Navy Blue and White for everything they have ever given!
