Disabled athlete Kurt Fearnley has launched a scathing attack on Jetstar after choosing to crawl around Brisbane airport rather than use an unsuitable wheelchair.
The negative comments to this video are quite funny and 100% uneducated. Its a shame you guys aren't literate enough to publish a book because i would probably buy it for a laugh. I hope you encourage your children to be just like you so we can all be humoured by their idiocy.
I can not believe all the coments below - r u fing serious, no seriously r u fing serious????????????
if u have lost both your legs and achieved more than kurt has then you can comment - otherwise pull your head in u un austaralian - wankers. your probably on the dole and get it handed to u. This man gets nothing - a disability pension is less than the dole, and im sur ehe does not even claim that. He has achieved more than most people can dream of and people want to bag him??
@chicane2k he wasnt asking to sit in the chair on the plane, he was asking to take the chair past security, throughout the airport, into the gate, and then either store the chair in the overhead locker, or have it taken from the gate and loaded as baggage. all the other airlines allow you to do this. also, the chairs the airlines provide are terrible, cannot be self propelled, and make you feel like a second class citizen.(by the way, iv'e flagged your comment as offensive)
kurt, you're a flaming attention seeker. you're a media whore, you always have been. you play the "poor handicapped wheelchair boy" card so poorly. you CANNOT sit in your own wheelchair on a plane. where would you sit? in the aisle, and block the way for everyone else? or in front of the emergency exit door? jetstar give you a wheelchair suitable for a plane, just because you're a whining bitch "special" athlete, you still have to use it. if you don't like it, grow some fucking legs you retard
Who cares. He looks like a 1970`s porn star with that moustache ! He didnt have to buy the ticket now did he ? He didnt read the fine print now did he ?
I must admit I think this story has been a bit unfair to Jetstar. They gave him the company issue wheelchair just as they would have given to anybody else. People are saying Kurt should be given special treatment because he is an elite athlete. Why would/should that make any difference? Any other disabled wheelchair bound person would have been given that same wheelchair and if they complained about it it definitely wouldn't be all over the news. I thought Australia was about 'equality'.
Whenever there's bad publicity about an Australian airline doing something unreasonable and/or idiotic, it's always the same name that crops up. I will never fly Jetstar and I will actively encourage others to avoid Jetstar like the plague.
I saw the "wheelchair" that Jetstar offered to Kurt. It was akin to a dining chair with wheels on the bottom. Their attitude toward this great Australian athlete was disgraceful.
