WOW! awesome cloud chamber, hey i gotta know your setup to get the gas control group so clear and the incident so neatly and defined. you should totally do one for like 5 min. im guessing by 7 secs and only one collision, im guessing your measuring cosmic rays instead of producing your own with a radioactive source. id prefer to not use something not as spontaneous as the americium in fire detectors.

Basically I followed Holly Batchelor's setup. The few differences include: painting the terrarium instead of the felt hood, Vaseline to reduce leaks around the base, and insulation on the protruding part of the aluminum griddle base to reduce frost on the outside of the terrarium. I played with Americium, but you are correct this is a trace caused by background radiation. I believe an electron being split of by a gamma collision.
