Alas, all in Dutch, explaining how I left Holland in 1949 for six years stay in HK to return in 1955. My father died one year later. Whilst alive he was delighted to see the films I sent home from Hong Kong (broadcast 7 oct. 2007).

  • I wonder if you left this editing work on your footage until your years of retirement. If so, it was a marvellous idea. Have you discovered anything recently in the films that you had forgotten about?

  • @Bouncybon Some of my recent clips are from the original films edited fifty years ago. In my previous vids of small sections of them I have added effects. All this was done in the last four years. Before that I projected my films once in ten years! It always revives memories as many people who appear in them have died!

  • Yes, I'm taller than that. 1 meter 83cm. You figure out how much that is in feet/inches. I'm not considered tall in Holland. My nephew is 8' tall. On the other hand my parents were 6 inch smaller than I! We figure it is due to better food consumption.

  • Interesting. Mr. Rogge, be my guest if you would like to visit Hong Kong again.

  • Thanks, but I doubt that at my age I shall visit HK ever again. I have stopped traveling except for cruises which depart from Amsterdam.

  • Hi Mr Michael Rogge I'm impressed by your video you took in 50's and 80's. Although i'm still young compared by you but i can realized hong kong in 50's is much good and even more beautiful especially the victoria habour...seems it's bigger than the current one.

Appreciate for your great video and every hongkongers will like and recall their memories :)
