Entertainment reporter Tim Estiloz profiles the classic spy TV show, "The Man From UNCLE". This phenomenally popular 1960's TV show starring Robert Vaughn and David McCallum was a clever mix of high adventure spy intrigue - mixed with clever tongue-in-cheek humor. The show became a world-wide TV hit... spawning huge ratings, fan clubs, and a merchandising gold mine in UNCLE related collectibles and toys. The spy series was so incredibly popular in it's scope - even the Beatles asked to meet with one of the two stars, Robert Vaughn on their first tour of the USA. This feature profiles the show "behind the scenes", the fan frenzy and the program's profound impact then... and now. This story was written and produced by Tim Estiloz. It originally aired on the entertainment news TV program, "Backstage" - seen on CN8 The Comcast Network.

I was such a huge fan of this show - I even wrote in and got the little UNCLE membership card and spy kit. Major love of Ilya Kuryakin.

My God! Mr.Vaughn hasn't changed..Mr.McCallum is older and a bit heavier.

One of the greatest shows - 60's Spys and Spacemen came along and killed off the 50's Detectives and Cowboys.

I wrote to them from my boarding school in England and they sent me an U.N.C.L.E id card (section 7 propergander and finance) not even my parents wrote to me!!

However, maybe the fan is simply enjoying memories of his past. I've seen the same kind of enthusiasm for many shows and films from adults... for the Twilight films to most definitely Sex and the City.

I l-o-v-e-d this show when I was a kid in the 60's--I get a very warm feeling seeing it here again . The person that posted it here is awesome as far as I'm concerned--it made a 60's kid happy again . Vaughn and McCallum are dear old friends I havent seen for ages. What a fantastic thing to see this again--I better go out and get the video set !!
