hey, to use the manual focus u have to set the switch on top of the camcorder to manual. Then click the scroll wheel and the little function will appear on the screen, press up to set focus on manual, u can fiddle with exposure too. After that just use the scroll wheel to toggle the settings. As for converting try to find a program called TMPGEnc (4.0) Xpress. It pretty much allows u to convert anything and just look around for exact specs for Youtube HD, i dont remmber exactly atm.

what settings do yo have the canon hg10 on so you can do that kind of focus, oh and im having trouble converting my files so i can put them on you tube can you help me out .
