Synopsis:
To Be Born is about a young woman faced with an unplanned pregnancy that seeks to have an abortion. In the midst of the procedure, she finds herself in a regrettable situation when she hears her unborn daughter begin to describe the chilling details of what is happening to her.

Background:
The film is based off a story called "A Letter from an Aborted Child," which had been used for nearly 10 years by Father Stephen Lesniewski for use to show women in a time of indecision. He estimates that over 500 babies have been saved because of his efforts in utilizing the aforementioned piece. Upon its' great success, Fr. Stephen decided to have a film produced with the hope that the overall message would reach an even larger audience.

Great Job. I love the rack focus in the beginning scenes. What kind of camera and editing program did you use. The sound is really good, also. clear and crisp. Did you dub the dialogue?

@pjohnson20 Thanks very much. The film was shot on a couple different cameras, Sony EX1 with a Letus 35mm Adapter, Canon 5D, Canon 7D. We edited it in FCP. No dialogue was dubbed all of it was recorded live on set.

Thanks for this excellent film. Abortion is the biggest murder in the world. the baby cannot ask for help, moreover he cannot run, he is trapped. So before doing an abortion please think about this.

This is an excellent depiction of the mental anguish people undergo when they do not have freedom of choice and bodily autonomy. The female lead was being emotionally manipulated into abortion. That isn't choice, and abortion clinic workers are trained to screen for that.

What it doesn't depict is realistic abortion. There are myriad inaccuracies in its depiction of the procedure -- the must fundamental one being that even at 24 weeks the cortical layers needed for consciousness don't exist.

@whickewhack You're right. Fetuses cannot talk. But i'm pretty sure that if they could they would say something similiar to that. Or at the very least they wouldn't choose to die. And I agree about the emotional terrorism too. That's what abortion does to a woman. People should know that. It is the whole purpose of the video.
