When they released the Chase in America, they had to cut the Beatles out of it. They should have replaced them with the Rutles!

No this isn't real. My dad edited it together for me.

  • Crikey mate, you had the same idea as me (or I had the same idea as you, whatever!).

  • @outofthegreenmist yep. Very clever of you to record audio, wish i had thought of that.

  • @OttselSpy24 Well, I wish I had the software to actually put the Rutles onto the space-time visualizer screen! However, joking aside, since the BBC did the original Rutles sketch, they probably could have come up with a witty, clever solution, rather than simply cut the scene out. Cheers!

  • @outofthegreenmist It's weird we both used the same song.

  • @OttselSpy24 I'm going to have to delete mine as the BBC have blocked it.

  • @outofthegreenmist That sucks!

  • 1:20 Thumbs up for dancing Ian

  • @OttselSpy24 You can sat that again! They even had an iTunes advert for The Beatles beside it! Very little of the content belonged to the BBC and none of the music was The Beatles. I don't think they check the videos properly at all. As far as I'm concerned, it fulfilled the 'Fair Use' criteria, but I've personally also found the dispute process to be a waste of time.

  • Nice one.

  • I've just done a Monkees version of this. That's the last one I'll do! LOL!

  • @OttselSpy24 I did the Rutles one after doing one of the Beatles first appearance on Ed Sullivan (but singing in German) instead of the original 'Ticket To Ride' sequence, so when I thought of doing a Rutles version, I naturally went for the Ed Sullivan performance!
