A rather rough landing at London City Airport after the quick flight from JFK on this A318.

  • Looked a hard landing - I hope they replace the tyres before I go on it in a couple weeks

  • @foreverIfly Yes... BAW have 2 A318 that have the route LCY to JFK daily... It departs LCY and lands at O'Shannon for refuel on its way to JFK,and goes back direct from JFK to LCY... This 2 A318's is capable of taking 32 passengers in a all business class layout :D

  • @foreverIfly Yes it's a direct flight from JFK to LCY on this A318 however this fleet has been modified to be Business Class only, thus reducing the take off weight.

  • does the pilot perform a static start during takeoff like the RJ85 pilots do? Also, apart from the US Immigration and Customs clearance at Shannon, I thought the other reason was because LCY didn't have the catering facilities to service long haul flights like this one?

  • That BRITISH Airways attendant sounds French?

  • in response to what people have commented here, the aircraft only stops in Shannon on the LCY-JFK leg, the return flight to London is direct. The fuel stop in Ireland is only because of US pre-border clearance there, and the fact that the runway at LCY is a bit short to carry a full load of fuel

  • @Mickiemike1 They dont stop at Shannon on the way from JFK

  • alot of these flights in and out of lcy. You can get an excellent view of these air craft and landing at royal albert station behind the newham dockside building. quite windy in the winter months though. f

  • To clear up the confusion, this is an Airbus a318, which is Business class only flight to JFK-London City, via Shannon for refueling and legal work.

  • Quick flight? New York-Shannon-London City?
