What a stunning voice! I love contraltos. I am surprised Jadwiga Rappe is not better known. She's so incredibly comfortable with those low notes, and yet the high notes are great too. What vocal range!. Reminds me her Polish compatriot Ewa Podles . Thanks so much for uploading this.

It was wonderful to discover Jadwige Rappe on you-tube. I had the privelidge of singing with her some years ago ( she was the soloist and I was only in the choir, however I can say that I shared a stage with her) As an alto myself I found her voice captivating and inspiring. Great to hear her again, thank you.

How good to find this singer here. I didn't know her at all, but read she'll give a concert next week where I live. Unfortunately not singing Amastre, but ... this is an amazing contralto voice (2:32!!), reason enough to make an exception and listen to Romantic arias (normally, I'm with 99,7% confined to baroque music). Thanks a lot for this upload ymket! I love youtube.
