The Wasp (also known as Janet van Dyne) is another Stan Lee creation, this time with the help of Jack Kirby. She started out as an air-headed, arrogant heiress until an alien monster killed her father. Then, aided by Dr. Hank Pym, her father's associate, she went through a biochemical procedure which allowed her to shrink, grow wings, and fire stinging blasts of energy. She joined a superhero team, the Avengers, and managed to lose some of her airheadedness. She has continued a running relationship with Doc Pym, though mental problems on his part led to a dissolution of their brief marriage. For music we have "Kiss and Say Goodbye," by the Isley Brothers.

At first i did not care about the wasp since she could shrink and sting people and it seems she only cared about her fashion outfit BUT after she became the leader of avengers and the writers showed her as a respected and strong leader then I started to care/respect for her as well.
Yes her and Black Goliath "death" in secret Invasion was pointless but then somehow Marvel will bring them back and hopefully wasp and Black Goliath rebirth will actually matter and not be a cheap gimmick

oh she be back no matter what the writers think but i have to agree that Wasp's "death" in the "Secret Invasion" was pointless and it just to get Hank to a male version of his wife's costume and a copy of her powers and to call himself "Wasp" now
its as crazy as it sounds,so hopefully they found a way to Janet Van Dyne back from so called "death"
Although surprisely Marvel isn't nearly into the random hero death thing that DC is obessed now with doing in there books

Like the South, vampires, and Britney Spears, the Wasp will rise again! (Sorry, heard that on television last night and couldn't resist stealing it.)
