    I would say that some of your points are valid, but I think that you are dismissing CGI as a whole because of some bad implementations. You make yourself sound like an overly-nostalgic, closed-minded hipster.

    First of all, you must be 13 years old to mis-use the word "Epic" for 2 films set in a totally different era. Is Star Wars EPIC!? And once this embarrassing obsession to make everything loud & "epic" with obvious cartoon like artificial superficial computer game cut-scene FX & over-dubbed carpet bomb crashes has fallen out of trend, they will age about as well as a banana in a freezer. There will come a time when CGI looks real, & not shiny & sterile. Ppl will laugh at those FX! As I do now!
