A Reciprocating Electric Motor that is controlled by computer comm port. Basically i wrote a vb program and constructed a motor using the armeture and platter of an old hard drive.

  • This does not use the hard drive motor...it uses the "voice coil". The hard drive spindle can be on a nail or anything...you can use a round piece of wood...the motor is powered by the back and forth motion of the coil. If you take apart a hard drive you can remove the voice coil very easy...but keep the wires connected to the little circuit board so you have a place to tap into the two wires going to the actual coil...if u want to build one contact me itguy18@hotmail
