This video gives a conceptual introduction to the Lagrange multiplier method of solving constrained optimization problems. It explains why the method is sometimes necessary, outlines why the method works, and then walks through the steps needed to solve for an optimum.

Jodiecongirl - how do you type your math up? The only system I have ever loved and learned is Design Science's Mathtype with Microsoft Word 2000. :)

@nahaymath Either LaTex or the "Insert Equation" feature in newer versions of Word. I find the latter to be sufficient for the vast majority of purposes, and it's easy to either copy and paste into PowerPoint or take a screen shot of and turn into an image.
