Kenwood radios are excellent, but the 940's and others of that era and before are getting old, and many are starting to have geriatric radio issues. The power supply filter caps failed in my 940, causing a lot of hum -- at first just for a few minutes at turn-on, and, ultimately, all of the time. I replaced all of the power supply caps, including the ones on the board under the speaker, and it's as good as new.
Nice shack! I'm a big fan of the TS-940. It's such an easy to use and versatile HF radio.

Mine was a gift from my father-in-law, W6RRZ.
Thanks, Dad.
