This video pays tribute to one of the best flying gliders of all time, "Red Tips", aka "Sixty". I flew this model for a couple of years but lost it in Frankfort, KY last year. It was caused by a receiver going to failsafe positions due to unknown reasons. May have been transmitter antenna orientaion or cell tower. Who knows?
A great glider at 16oz! Unfortunately, it is out of production. :-(

Onboard camera is Flycam One 2 by www.hobby-lobby.com with battery modification and microphone relocation. The microphone was inside the airplane, thus you can hear the ballast slugs moving around.

  • I was flying the other matching airplane during this flight , seen briefly flying in the video . It was a great day of high speed flying untill I heard a screeching noise and a .......CRUNCH . a search of steep wooded slope revealed the remains , and the on board camera
