@rainbowhiker I hear ya :o) I also have some very minimal stoves for cooking the food in the pots. Alot of them are bottle fed. Sometimes I like to use my powerful ones and just get er' done if there is a lot of other chores to do or if I'm just real hungry :o) I have 2 Heine kits and 2 extra cans in case of a mishap. I really should round up some more since I heard that they quit making them apparently! That will put a bit of a dent in the Ultra lite thing eh? As far as beer cans go they're #1!

@Ggreenvideos The coating problem never bothered me for cooking in them, as long as I had water in it. Plus, since I actually cook in my post, my alcohol stoves are low heat items I've worked on to 'lessen' the boil time so I don't burn my food. I still have two hiene pots let, but seldom use them these days.

@rainbowhiker Some people are totally against using beer can pots in fear of BPA poisoning from the coatings. I'm kind of on the fence on that one :o) I use them less these days though because I have a few very lite titanium pots.

@rainbowhiker So you have a dirty Heine?...hehe! I have never cooked in them. Just boiled water for freeze dried meals or a hot drink. It's not a good idea to cook in them. When the water reaches boil with food in it, the bubbles can't be replaced with more water quick enough so the plastic lining burns or bubbles. Then you're dealing with pieces of plastic in the food, a destroyed pot, and bare aluminum. Kind of like the old canteen cups. Those are bare aluminum. I would never use them either.

@Ggreenvideos I used to use my Heine (that sounds dirty) for cooking, not just heating water, but the grove at the bottom was just too hard to clean, so I've gone another route with smaller pots and cooking my food in easy to clean tin containers. I also have another pot that is a stainless-S item and it's about the same size as the Heine. Do you use the can for cooking or just heating water? If you cook, what's your method of cleaning that bottom groove? It was always a problem for me.

@rainbowhiker Thanks, Oh I have made tons of advances since this kit...hehe! I've been using the the Heine pot for a long time now! Much stronger and holds much more water. I have it wrapped with the 1/16" flame proof fiberglass rope for a cool touch. I also advanced my stove designs greatly since then.

I do like your mini kitchen kit. Looks pretty cool. I noticed you didn't have a pot cosy. Once your food is cooked or water warmed, you could put it in the cosy and then handle it with bare hands. Probably fit in your kit. And this kit of yours is way lighter than any conventional stove and that's smart, going that lightweight. There is a real advantage in being well energized when you get to camp or out hunting. Smart and light is the best choice outdoors. Thanks for showing us your setup.
