Once one takes as fact that the only goal of life is to "be happy", even if that's artificial happiness(as new agers do), that's it. Common sense is forsaken for a group cult where narcisism is at the center, and this surrender of common sense is fully reinforced by all sorts of pseudo-spiritual, nonsensical beliefs. Then the group is easily led to all sorts of actions, by the facilitators manipulating them.

New agers are a smiley version of youth brigades.
