Avalon, Throughout The Years (Part 1: The Sopranos)

In Part 1 of this series, we take a brief survey of each of the four ladies who has served, at some point in time, as the soprano vocalist for Avalon.

Please leave your comments below. It is fine to compare and contrast the vocal styles of each of these singers. However, please do not post intentionally hurtful or negative remarks, as they will be deleted.

All images and musical samples are the respective properties of their owners. I own nothing you see in this presentation.

  • I really love all of these singers. I have made several videos similar to this. btw, where did you get the song "Praise the Lord"? i cannot find it anywhere and it is literally the ONLY song by them that I don't have. Keep up the good work.

  • I got "Praise the Lord" as a digital download when I bought ANOTHER TIME, ANOTHER PLACE as a physical CD. There was a download code in it that takes you to the track.

  • i've liked amy's voice, it sounds different, its stronger, lower, i liked her

  • My favorite out of these 4 women would have to be Cherie. IMO her voice blended the best w/ members of the OLD Avalon. Melissa definitely had the highest range and probaly the strongest voice; I liked her too and was dissapointed when I found out she left the group. I liked Nikki, but I think she sounds better solo. As for Amy...I'm still warming up to her voice, but she seems very likeable and probably already fits in well w/ the group bcuz she's Jeremi's wife. God bless ladies!

  • Melissa is still my favorite. She has the unsurpassable ability to belt out amazing notes with power and sing verses solo with ease while also being able to provide a sweet upper voice to the blend of four voices. You never had to worry about her not being as good live as on CD. From there my faves are Nikki, Cheri, and Amy. I just doing feel as comfortable with Amy on some of those parts and feel that she still needs to come into her own in the group.

  • My favorite remains Cherie. Her soprano voice is soft, beautiful & warming. Amy sounds like she will do awesome singing Nikki's parts due to their voices being VERY similar. All 3 r great sopranos that were awesome @ harmonizing because their voices were so compatible w/ the rest of the group. They did exacty what a soprado is supposed to do in a 4 part harmony, encompass the note. Melissa is excellent @ high notes; she probably has a 4-5 octave range. I think, better as a solo artist. God bless

  • Any way you could possibly send it to me?

  • I've been looking for something like this. Good job :) I have to say that while I think Niki was the best with the original group, Cheri was my fave above Melissa. Melissa always seemed to scream more than sing. But now with Amy in the group she blends great with Janna.

  • Love it!!! Cant wait for the guys one!!
