  • @Maxstate

Also if you just want to make the argument that the pressures put on men by advertising aren't as bad as the pressures put on women (which I would obviously agree with) just say. But you were attacking his methods (anecdotes) which you had earlier defended.

Also I don't think advertisers are particularly driven by their sexism. If they could make men feel as insecure as women about their appearance, in order to sell more crap, they would (and in fact they are trying to).

  • @TheSorrow1O1 Only I didn't defend this as 'anecdotal' nor did I change my opinion. You have to understand the difference between subjective, one-off anecdotal examples of bias against men (in a patriarchy for god's sake) against the structural, systematic centuries old subjugation and exploitation of women, the demeaning of their character and their portrayal as objects for sexual lust. That men might suffer some modicum of the same treatment in media is bad, but the two can't be compared.

  • @Maxstate

The examples shown in this video are "anecdotal examples" as are the ones raised MWcrazyhorse. The difference is that you defended the use of the "anecdotal examples" shown in this video by feminists but then quickly changed your opinion on the use of "anecdotal examples" when MWcrazyhorse used them AGAINST feminism. I'm not arguing against feminism btw, but you can't use "anecdotal examples" yourself then forbid their use by people you disagree with.

  • @MWcrazyhorse You are dealing with a self proclaimed smart ass, who says a lot that means nothing.

  • @Maxstate I have named you several points. The irrational and offensive rhetoric while entirely ignoring the topic itsself should even indicate to yourself you ______ [fill in the blank].

  • Btw this is comedy not a sociological survey. It is a joke.

  • @Maxstate you just need to open your eyes. There is more than one side of the argument. Think for yourself.
