Nick POV
Troy: What happened?

I waited for Joe to answer, but he didnt, he just stared off straight ahead.

Troy: What Happened?!

Joe: We got into a fight.

Troy: About what?

Joe: nothing.

Troy: If this kills her I am so killing you!

Jack: troy calm down.

Joe: Trust me, if she dies, Ill kill me too.

Troy just glared at him and sat far away.

Jack: Im pretty sure its not your fault, shell be fine, shes- shes strong.

Joe didnt look up. Anyone could tell that he was upset, he didnt want to show it, but he was beating himself up about this. After an hour Dr. Grey followed by another doctor came with her.

DR.: Im Dr. Christina Yang, McKell is out of surgery, shes still under, she had some internal bleeding but we got it under control. We believe there might be a concussion, but no major brain problems. We believe she will be fine.

McKells mom cried.

Laura: oh thank you.

Dr. Grey: is there anything I can get you guys?

Laura: no I think were fine.

Dr. Yang: she should wake up in 40 minutes or so. You can go see her then.

We nodded and the doctors walked away. After 40 minutes we walked into her room. she was hooked up to all these machines and her face was bruised and cut. It just didnt look right. She was awake, but she didnt seem entirely, there, if thats how I can put it. Jack and Laura decided to go and take care of the paper work, while troy took Sidney and Trevor to the cafeteria.

Joe: Im so sorry McKell.

McKell: Why?

Joe: because of what I said earlier.

McKell: What did you say?

Joe: I mean we were about to- Whats the date?

McKell: Its November 4th 2008?

Miley: No its March 15th 2009-

Joe: Its not November. You were in an accident, but were just glad youre ok.

McKell: Im glad my best friend was here when I woke up then.

Kevin: but hes not your best friend hes your-

Joe: Bestest friend in the whole wide world. Nothing is changing that.

We all just looked at each other. We understood what Joe was doing. He wanted McKell to believe that they were just friends. He was even starting to convince himself of that little lie.

Nick: Joe, lets give McKell some rest, come on guys.

We led Joe out of the room.

Nick: what are you doing?

Joe: she doesnt remember anything from when we were together, lets keep it that way.

Keisha: But Joe-

Chad: I think hes right here.

Joe: thank you.

Kevin: What happens when she does remember?

Joe: Ill deal with that later, but for now, shes my best friend, I cant lose that.

He went back in the room and we all just rolled our eyes at him. He remembered, it was going to kill him. He came back out.

Joe: look, lets forget that me and McKell ever dated. Its gone, its erased, it never happened. Ok? I want you to treat it as if it never happened.

Nick: Fine, it never happened.

Kevin: what?

Nick: We cant make him change his mind.

Joe nodded and walked back in the room.
