This video is very well put together and exceeds the Magpul installation manual in its graphic detail and simple instructual text. Great job. Thanks for taking the time. This beats the tiny pics in the Magpul manual.

That shim is a bastard, I will say, the best method for getting it in there I've found is actually a pair of tweezers. If you can get the end of the shim that engages the tube in first it should just fall in and engage the plate. If not you'll be at it for a little while. A piece of tape to hold down the plate will do in lieu of another pair of hands.
