In 1979, Don Cherry's Boston Bruins took a too many men on the ice penalty against the Montreal Canadiens late in the third. The Bruins were up 4-3 at the time, but Guy Lafleur made short work of that lead. He scored with 2:34 left in the period to force OT. In overtime, Yvon Lambert scored to send the Canadiens to the Stanley Cup Final.

  • 9 years to the day after Bobby Orr's famous OT diving goal. May 10, 1979 for Lafleur, 1970 for Orr.
