No, it's not real pizza - certainly not like you have in Italy or in a pizzeria with a good brick oven. But out in the woods, I'd be be very happy to eat it.

Great video! Im working on the best camp pizza as I speak, when I get it down I will post a vid. I'll be using a dutch oven on a Dakota pit . I live 40 miles east of where you shot this video, and I know the RMNF like the back of my hand [did I ever tell you about the time I got lost right on the back of my hand?] Dano.

Hey, this is Elisabeth from Backpacker. Cheese stays fresh for a surprisingly long time--if it's a hard cheese, like the Asiago we used here. It's even better when you keep it in a chunk and dice it right before cooking, instead of pre-shredding. Softer cheeses, like mozzarella, have a much shorter pack life.
