Another Pokemon bootleg, this time by the same people who made Final Fantasy IV. The game starts you off at Mauville City instead of Littleroot town, and doesn't allow you to go to any of the previous locations. They also managed to get most of the wild Pokemon in their proper routes unlike the other games. It plays pretty well, though your team seems awfully weak for being 20 levels higher than the enemies...

NOTE: The game is being played on a Power Joy, a knockoff Famicom system, which plays the game's audio differently than how it should sound. It switches two audio channels with each other and has higher volume for the noise channel (for bass, drumbeats, etc.) so it's not the game being different or anything. I'll put up a video eventually detailing this famiclone and another one, the Good Boy system's emulation (sound is most noticeable with Super Mario Bros. 3)

  • Isn't the sound engine stolen from Konami? The PCM samples sound the same for what I remember. The rest of it sounds like SNT though, and there's another rendition of that first song used in their Zelda: Minish Cap pirate. Also, the font for the numbers is the same as the ones used in their games. Wouldn't have expected that myself, the only other games by Henggedianzi I can think of are cheap hacks of Waixing games.

  • @cheetahmen92 Funny you should say that. The case, cartridge, and manual are all very similar to SNT's. In fact, the cart is practically word for word (including in cheapness) to SNT's, except it's missing their logo, the cart's blue, and there's no numbering on the box or cart. Maybe Henggedianzi is a branch of SNT meant for publishing other companies' games?

  • The colors look very accurate for a Famicom

  • @NusuttoSan SNT's RPGs have thin dialogue boxes that contain only one line of text, but this game has thicker dialogue boxes with two lines of text.

  • @ 0:01 What the fuck is that?! It's Pinyin gone horribly wrong.
