  • I love the sound of the flowerpot bandwagon, did you meet Bill and Ben while you were on it?

  • Hi Simon, your 4 kg of clay don't look like "my" 4 kg ... they look much more like "my" 7 kg. Is that any rules or consideration about the volume and the weight of clay ? Actually I am buying by 10 kg and in a plastic bag. But frankly I never checked the effective weight. Another question would be for an equivalent of a given weight may be the "volume" is different ??? Many thanks for your kind feedback ! Joël

  • wow, i just found your channel and its amazing what you can do! I am also a potter at my highschool in New jersey. I wish i could raise the sides like you do with only your hands! by chance would you know how to give adcie to an porrter who is an amputee?

  • wow. had me on the edge of my seat

  • wait, it says that in my name on here-where to search.. must be brain dead tonight... Anyway you are a huge help to me learning how to throw a pot

  • Simon

I used the newspaper trick to lift off two bowls I made. Works like a charm. I use a lot of what you teach, works great and has me well ahead of the game. I just need to learn your spiral wedging technique.

I have started to video my finished pots, you can find them when you search for "Markpottery" here on youtube.

  • We call that slap centering here in Maryland. That is the first step we teach to beginners to help them get the wet centering easier.

  • Hello Simon , Great to see this . Throwing ten pounders in Honduras on a light weight kick wheel ( two sheets of plywood and no cement ! ) I used to say they turned up the temperature in the shop for the ten pounders !! Its a bit of extra work but what a great flowerpots . Good on you !! The rounder the pot the harder to pick up but your paper trick worked just great !! The pots you did here in Connecticut came out of the kiln and everyone loves them. All the best , yours Guy

  • pot seemed a little off

  • simon check out the youtube film of isaac buttonn throwing flowerpots and lifting them off the wheel with his forarms and a piece of broom stick.......an amazing man
