It's really heartbreaking.

What worries me is that those kids'll get out soon enough and they'll be able to have name changes and all kinds of protection as if they're the victims.

This breaks my heart. Sophie showed more bravery than most people show in a lifetime. The barbaric nature of the murder shocked even the cold hearted.

This is so sad. Nobody should ever be murdered for being themselves or being diffrent and not fitting into "society". She should still be alive and with her loved ones and friends. I will admit that I was scared of Goth's when I first time I saw them until I met some of them and they turned out to be very good people. I hope that haterd agaist people simple because of they're apperance will stop.

I'm not sure how adding another category to hate crimes will help very much. I wasn't aware committing murder because of the way someone dresses is worse than committing murder for any other reason.

Wow this is all terrible. I'm never going to allow my kids to do or say anything different or 'alternative'- the risks are just too high.

Sorry if this isn't 'correct' parenting, but whatever all the other kids are wearing, that's what they will wear. Not that I'm blaming Sophie's parents for what happened to her, but I'd rather my kid be a clone than dead...
