Few things are more rewarding or fun than playing music at a senior citizen's center on St. Patrick's Day (or any other day, for that matter). You can't call yourself a musician until you've played for the nicest listeners in the world: senior citizens. It doesn't matter if they're dependent on a walker or if they're slowed by age or infirmity, they will move and groove and clap and stomp (just like little kids) if the music moves 'em (as you will see). Watch the "parade of partiers" as St. Patty's Day is celebrated on March 17, 2010 at Ebenezer Ridges Senior Center in Burnsville, Minnesota. Keith Johnson is on mandolin and Ben Wellumson is on lively guitar accompaniment.
ahhh!
brings a big smile to my face every time!

Keith! great to see you! I figured I might as well jump aboard the bandwagon and join your big fan list on here! I have always been so proud to be able to say one of my friends/former teachers is so talented! Very sweet of you to play for the senior citizens, though you had me up doing a river dance too! You always put a smile on my face! Hope you are doing well! This is one of the best live bands I have ever heard, I would totally buy a cd! That smile is like sunshine too, such a great man!

Although it's not the most "happenin' " crowd out there, you're right. There's nothing more rewarding than playing for seniors. I really enjoy going to the gigs my dad's band plays at our local Senior Citizen / Assisted Living / Rehabilitation Center.
