Great interview with U2 (16/12/1988). At the end they play an acoustic version of John Lennon's Happy X-Mas (war is over)

  • Poor Larry couldn't they of at least given him a snare drum lol lol lol lol?

  • The guy at the beginning was very odd.

The performance at the end moved me for some reason. It was probably the way Bono seemed to be getting into the music, and Adam's acoustic bass. :)

  • Cynicism is part of human Nature, but overly Cynical People can be very annoying, seem to try to find arguements in anything. That Guy at the Start was a bit annoying alright.

  • Beautiful rendition of this John Lennon song.

Nice memories of how U2 used to be. . . . truly talented.

  • I remember watching this in 1988, aged 18..........(God i wish i was again). The only thing that stuck in my mind was when Bono cut that gobshite down for slagging U2 fans. He reminded me of all the stuck up A level students that i knew and who loved to condescend to us. The edit misses out the bit were the audience clapped loudly and almost cheered Bono for it. Great posting thanks.

  • Was looking for the best version of this song. Didn't realize there was an interview also! Once again, Bibien comes through! You rock!

  • well I think the guy who questioned U2'S fanbase had a relavent question, but was shut off by bono.

  • I remember I was watching this at the Age of 13 with my Family on the night it was aired. The Late Late show was, and still is aired Live.

  • min 0:30 Couple of Smiths fans trying to sabottage the interview... LOL!!!

  • Thanks for posting this interview. Very interesting, indeed. Loved it.
