  • Glad you were able to get out of there =]

Amazing with all the warnings that were put out that people still believed they could drive through! They say it only takes 12 inches of water to sweep a car away.

I can't begin to imagine how hard hit Occoquan must have been. We have a friend who lives there and haven't heard from her yet.

  • @patkashtock Search for Occoquan floods in youtube and there is a video of some pictures. A LOT of water there.

I hope you hear from your friend soon.

  • Thanks for posting -- we met up with a closed off Rt 1 last night. They had it cordoned off up by Occoquan Rd. We were at Silky Smooth Dance Studio -- they weren't even letting people in or out of the parking lot. Your video shows it was bad. I think it kept getting worse as the night wore on.

  • @patkashtock No problem, we were at Denny's just having coffee and saw people almost wrecking head on to get through and I went out to film the flooding thinking people were going to stop but they kept going though. It wasn't till the cops came that people stopped. Old Occoquan had it SO much worse, I don't have pictures but I've seen some that showed streets flowing with 3 feet of water at very high speeds.

  • That's crazy! To see little cars try to go through that water-I just don't understand? Glad you guys are ok:)

  • @cwest524 Thanks, we were able to cut back the other way to get home but a lot of people had to go all the way around to I95 to get home.

  • @MsDoggiePaws No problem, although I didn't do anything but film. I wish I could have actually helped the families and businesses that suffered during the flood. I hope that you were able to recover from the flood and all is well.

  • I can't believe people drove through that.
