  • i dont really like this training method. and sometimes, i dont agree with videos saying 'THIS IS HOW YOU TRAIN A HORSE!" every horse is different, you should alter your training method from horse to horse. thats just my opinion...

  • i agree with you. this man should have a larger round pen and not be scaring the horse with the whip. this horse cannot run freely around the pern it is trapped on one side turning round and round. those ropes should not be on the ground what if he got caught in them? i definitely would never try this method. i have to recommend Monty Roberts as well.

  • I don't think this guy is any genius... The horse he was trying to "catch" ws only standing still to see his buddy through the fence there.

  • there's no problem horses, there's only problem people. -.-

  • The horse should be coming to the trainer, not the trainer going to the horse.. I do not like this guys training..

  • I'm not one to say "my way is right and your way is wrong." His way of training is not as good as other methods but DEFINITELY not as bad as about 90% of other trainers out there. I have to give him that much credit. Still, please do not take this video as an example of how you should train your horse, there are better and more effective methods that you should try before this one in my opinion.

  • I did this exact same thing with a horse in a 10 acre paddock. Completely green horse that had had a life of abuse and hated people. I think if I can do that then this "horse whisperer" should be able to too.

If a horse stops in a round pen like the, the round pen is too small. They should seem continuous to a horse and have no kinks.

  • My horse doesnt like men, the recent owners said that he was abused in the past or broken in the wrong way but his getting better and he now follows me, you just need patience.

  • I used to have issues catching my horse (he was abused in the past a little) All I did was catch and release and I'd have cookies in mt pockets or something GOOD to give him. after only about 3 months he'd walk up to me, after about 7, he'd trot, now he canters up. I didn't do anything negative. I have to work with him a little in the round pen because he has had experiences like this guy in there, it was a scary place for him. I don't agree with this. I don't know anyone who would.

  • Why do people coment on things they know nothing about? The round yard is too small, the train can't be safe in that yard, it's cruel, go Monty roberts or some other natural horseman? If you don't like the way John does things don't do them that way, but don't question his ability for he is one of the better horseman we have had here in Oz, and probably one of the closest to the great J.D Wilton.
