Here's a way to get a get the sound of a compressor with a highpass control from the Elektron Octatrack. Variations on this wet/dry approach give other compressor effects such as adding extra pumping to the track. More detailed shaping capability than you would get from the usual highpass is easily possible. This trick is also easily portable to the Machinedrum and Monomachine. HD version available so you can see the screen. Full screen is best to see the settings.
