I thought I might add that after ~15 years of starting off the approach in January of this year I finally started my approach from the approach. I helps me keep my speed a little lower and doesn't tick other people off as much.

Well, It's whatever works for you. I'm guessing when this guy misses the pocket and hits the headpen hard it could leave a nice little scar.

And halfway through the vid I noticed he doesn't even start on the approach! WTF?! If I bowled next to this guy, I'd go crazy (lane courtesy).

Just wondering what lb ball do you use and whats your average ball speed? I throw no thumb also. Its kinda of a unusual backswing(I have a video on my profile)but I'm just trying to see what the speed and ball weight is for other no thumbers. Also please check out and comment on my video is you get a chance. Thanks,.

I throw mainly 15lbs, though I do have a 16lb ball that I use often. I even have a 12lb plastic ball that I have pulled out of the bag for certain baby splits. Ball speed ranges between 18 and 21 MPH depending on conditions, top speed is probably 21.5. I also happen to use a thumb-tip grip with a two handed back swing... self taught obviously.
