  • @joboots007 . Well said Joboots. Seeing as in your world a "bigot" is a white person who sometimes refers to black men as "gentlemen." WOW what a scathing racial slur that was!!!

"The quickest way to lose an argument is to overstate your case" -John Kenneth Galbraith

  • @dave4248 Sounding like a bigot yourself,huh Dave????

  • America was made great by Europeans. People 'of color' are leeached of the the bounty. Look at any inner city today, are the hopeless Swedish?

  • Amazing to think Mays missed 1 1/2 seasons because of the Korean War.

  • Mays had all the tools in his toolbox.

  • Imagine if the Yankees had gotten Mays and Aaron- they would have been even scarier than they already were.

  • @dave4248

It was more a reference to the way that ballplayers lived back then- they lived and played hard, and would do practically anything to win. It was a way for Weiss to say that Elston Howard was "soft," which is the last thing any athlete wants to be called.

  • Since when did you have to be a gentleman to play in the major leagues?

Since when is calling somene a "gentleman" a racial slur?

    Hoenig,... you're a dick.

  • "....And then, he got better..."
