In this speech given on April 1980, Maumoon Abdul-Gayyoom of Maldives admits he was carrying a weapon when he took the oath as president in 10th November 1978 and that he knew it was against the constitution. Later on he denies it publicly on TVM Siyaasath programme on 16th September 2008.

Maumoon (asia's longest serving leader) is running for his 7th five year term to be the president.
