Honor at Last for Roy P

I did this as a way to honor all those who have struggled to come back from serving our country in times of war. The most interesting part for me was something I didn't find out until after I created this photoplay, was that this was Roy's second tour. He had been so gravely wounded, by stepping on a landmine, on his first tour that he was drummed out of the Army after returning. Roy built his body back up and returned to the service after proving himself fit and joined the elite Green Beret's and went back to Vietnam for a second tour for which he received the Medal of Honor.

He killed four enemy soldiers in combat to save a grossly outnumbered and outgunned party of his own comrades from certain death, doing so under inhuman conditions and impossible circumstances. If he is not a hero in your eyes, and if you cannot show the slightest decency and respect, or even consider his story beyond the stain of your own prejudice, then you will never know respect or appreciate courage.

I was shown this in forth grade and I was thinking..... wow..... what an amazing American hero... I still think that to this day.... I'm going to try and spread his story on Vet's day..

Another almost forgotten hero... Kinda puts John Kerry's three purple hearts to shame, doesn't it? Yet we keep hearing about them every time he changes jobs (one from a shrapnel wound in his thigh that was treated with some gauze and stitches, another piece in his arm I think, and the last one that allowed him to get out early was a real nasty bump on the arm when he was blown against a wall).

A man lives one forever in the hearts of those he touched, lives on forever when those he never met, speak of his courage and valor. You will not be forgotten, Roy. A real ass kicking American. I pisses me off when people condemn Mexican based Americans. They are stand up people. The guy was incredible. I wish I could tell him so. I was in USAF defending us against bombers which, fortunately, never came.

We need all of our children to know about true HEROES like Roy. The Guy who will take a fuking bullet for you! the guy that will jump on a grenade for his fellow American. guys that are not afraid to get out of the fukin boat!
