I did this as a way to honor all those who have struggled to come back from serving our country in times of war. The most interesting part for me was something I didn't find out until after I created this photoplay, was that this was Roy's second tour. He had been so gravely wounded, by stepping on a landmine, on his first tour that he was drummed out of the Army after returning. Roy built his body back up and returned to the service after proving himself fit and joined the elite Green Beret's and went back to Vietnam for a second tour for which he received the Medal of Honor.

  • I knew Roy and was fortunate enough to talk to him before he passed away. I still have his picture that he signed for me. It was hard going to his funeral services that were held in San Antonio. He was not a big tall man but more short and stocky. But you could feel that his presence was bigger than a lot of men. Even in death.

  • A true American hero. Tango Mike Mike.

  • @MRcalibrecincuenta This video made me get chills,.......what an honor it would have been to know him.He is with God, and God knows how he fought.People are people......does not make any difference what color a person is,we should all recognize one another as brothers and sisters in this world that we live in.This man did it all, he did not discriminate who he would or would not save.Blessings to his family and all who knew him.

  • This MAN is a HERO in every sense of the word...Shame Shame on this Country for not honoring him years ago...May you rest in peace...No way would they ever make a movie of him. Shame Shame on Hollywood!!
