@AbstractCorp black knight was crappy because it based on slashing a sword back and forth ignoring everything of sonic's gameplay and sonic unleashed was only 50% good because the werehog thing was bullshit they completely changed the gameplay with a stupid story the plot was damn good using the chaos emeralds to pull the planet apart made robotnik a bad ass but chip wasnt necessary and neither was that damn werehog thus colors fixed that and made the game 100% good

You know it's absolutely sad that classic and modern sonic have to be the selling point of the game, solely because of the constant insatiable bitching of the fanbase.

So they came out with Sonic and the black knight (again I thought it was ok) and Sonic Unleashed (This was seriously a good game I don't see why people complained) both had horrible feedback. So they went back to Sonic CD and took the idea of the planet chain and reused it with Colors but this time IGNORED THE SO CALLED "FANS" and Colors was great. So they're going back to the fans with this one and appealing to both sides with modern and old

People then wanted old Sonic and to get rid of all these new characters so they tried to reboot the franchise with Sonic 06 this met extremely bad in customer satisfaction. So they tried again at classic Sonic with Sonic 4 (in my opinion it was good) which still had bad reviews. And by then fanboys started wanting more action

An they brought in Big, E-102, Rouge, and Shadow, and brought back Metal Sonic. This move was successful so they added more Charmy Bee, Vector, and Espio (yes I know the Chaotix already existed before Sonic Heroes but it was only 1 game), Cream, and E-123 Omega. Here is where bitching went into overdrive

People need to stop bitching and moaning about sonic. Seriously it's people like them that make the series "worse" because Sega actually listens to their fanbase unlike nintendo which is why they haven't messed up the Mario series yet.

People wanted more of a variety of characters.
