@wileyk209zback I remember. Sometimes if the person who announced the sponsors and then saying that Sesame Street is a production of the "Children's Television Workshop" wouldn't say about Slimey. Instead, Jerry Nelson would say it. I remember when Oscar was announcing the sponsors and when Oscar said how Slimey's spaceship still on it's way to the moon he would say he misses him and when he said the spaceship is still on it's way to Sesame Street, Oscar says he wishes he would hurry.

@afriendofbean That's how it was initially done, but I also recall as they got closer to the moon, they would instead have Jerry Nelson say the announcement every time.

I remember seeing these "Worms In Space" skits which had to do with Slimey going to the moon and then returning back to Sesame Street. The first episode was where Slimey and the other worms blasted off in the spaceship to the moon and at the end of every episode, whoever mentioned the letter and number of the day would then say "and Slimey's spaceship is still on it's way to the moon" or when returning the person would say "and Slimey's spaceship is still on it's way back to Sesame Street."
the worms are magical

Does anyone else here think the intro was a slight take on the Muppet Show's "Pigs In Space"?
